“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”
Meet Lenka
Hello stranger!
Let me tell you a bit about me. I moved to Iceland from the Czech Republic after falling in love with the country during my first visit. What began as a journey soon became my home.
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. On every trip during my childhood, I carried an old digital camera, photographing anything that caught my eye, so I could show it to my family back home and keep it as memories.
Later, with my first phone camera, I filled it with hundreds of images — wanting to keep places, feelings, and moments alive, that memory alone might forget.
Inspired by Iceland’s raw beauty, wildlife, and ever-changing nature, I focus on landscape photography rooted in quiet observation. Rather than chasing dramatic scenes, I am drawn to fleeting details: sunlight filtering through a forest, falling snowflakes, soft evening light, or the stillness of an ordinary moment.
My work is not only about showing what Iceland looks like, but also how it feels. After years of living here, the wonder of dramatic landscapes has slowly turned into an appreciation for subtler things — quiet moments, overlooked details, and the beauty hidden in everyday scenes.
Through my photography, I aim to capture places people often look at, but do not always truly see — creating images that reflect emotion, atmosphere, and a sense of connection to nature.
I still carry my camera the same way I always did — simply because something feels worth remembering.
